Headgum is a leading comedy podcast network and advertising marketplace with an emphasis on host-read ads. We are a small startup team with bright ideas that likes to move fast and have fun. The Summer Production Intern will work closely with our content and marketing teams to support Headgum’s production workflow and promotional content. Interns will get a first-hand look into how a multimedia/podcast network functions on a day-to-day basis. They will have the opportunity to learn how a podcast is produced, from concept to current series.


Rate: $16/hr 3 days a week

Job requirements

Scope of work will include:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of podcast production and promotion, by shadowing development and supporting day-to-day needs for current series.

  • Supporting the marketing team by creating promotional content including video, audio, and image assets. You will have the opportunity to pitch creative concepts and execute them.

  • Copywriting for social media, newsletters, and pitch decks.

  • Managing series production documents to track release dates, guests, and topics

  • Assisting with episode research and helping to brainstorm ideas

Additional tasks may include:

  • Managing and maintaining studio audio and video equipment between sessions

  • Assisting with office upkeep and greeting talent

  • Shadowing podcast recording sessions

Requirements:

  • Must reside in the Los Angeles or New York area for the duration of the internship
  • Applicants should be passionate about podcasting and comedy and interested in pursuing work in production, development, or marketing.

  • Obsessive attention to detail

  • Extensive proficiency with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop. Illustrator is a plus. Applicants must include examples of previous video and design work in their application.

  • Proficiency with Sheets/Excel, Google Docs, and Google Slides/Keynote

  • Basic proficiency in audio editing software and DSLR filmmaking is a plus

  • Interest in creative writing and producing is also a plus
