Job description

Headgum is searching for a Podcast Partnership Manager. You will be primarily responsible for recruiting and onboarding the best podcasts to join Headgum’s host-read ad marketplace, Gumball.fm. You will have the opportunity to build strong and deep relationships with today’s podcasting talent, and industry players to grow a community of artists on our platform.


You’re a relationship driven, analytical, and hard-working podcast junkie who gets your fix by spotting upcoming talent and helping artists make money. You’re a curious and insatiable learner, and you consider yourself tech savvy. You will act as a talent scout, recruiter, project and program manager, and an A&R manager for podcasts. You’re outgoing, strategic, and organized, with an eye toward growth. You will be responsible for creating and executing a podcast recruitment strategy that relies on a human and personal connection with creators and artists. This is a hands on role that will have a tangible impact on the direction of the company.


Los Angeles based preferred, open to remote work.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a holistic podcast recruiting and outreach strategy.
  • Identify which shows and artists are the best fit for our platform.
  • Recruit podcasts to list their inventory on Gumball.
  • Execute distribution and sales agreements.
  • Identify talent and artists who should be podcasting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with podcast networks, distribution platforms, and podcasters
  • Manage the onboarding process for new shows who join the platform.
  • Build and execute a communication strategy with podcasters already on the platform.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for podcaster requests and questions and support
  • Collaborate with our sales team and podcast hosts to execute custom campaigns and initiatives.


Key Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of sales, business development, or A&R experience with an audio or media company, or similar relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Can elegantly maintain a casual and friendly tone during professional conversations
  • Have strong negotiation skills to get to yes, and understand when to say no
  • Acumen within the podcasting industry and on-demand audio
  • A strong attention to detail, comfortable with editing and executing contract agreements
  • A motivated self starter who takes initiative on new ideas
  • Passionate about podcasting, startups, & technology
